The Australian Embassy, in partnership with Citrus Australia and the Victorian Government, launched 'Australian Oranges - Now in Season', to mark the season and availability of Australian oranges in the Philippines.

At the launch, Australian Ambassador Bill Tweddell and Fil-Aus celebrities Iya Villania, Chris Everingham of the Philippine Volcanoes and Fely Irvine. Chef Wade Watson of Bondi&Bourke highlighted that ‪#‎AussieOrangesPH‬ can be enjoyed as a healthy and delicious snack, in smoothies, salads, or used as an ingredient in a range of sweet and savoury recipes. Oranges have long been considered a valuable part of a healthy and nutritious diet and it is well established that nutrients in citrus promote health and provide protection against chronic disease.

Celebrating Dr. Micaller’s Passion for All Things Green and Organic

Was I in greener pastures with all this green food and vibrant energy? Dr. Elizabeth Micaller is my mother’s professor at the Philippine Institute of Naturopathic Science (PINS). She received the “Iridologist of the Year” award in Florida last February from the International Iridology Practitioners’ Association. Dr. Bethh is one of the country’s pioneers of natural health and a visionary, having been a strong advocate of natural and alternative medicine as early as 30 years ago. When no one was minding the effects of modern diet, she was already deep into all things green, healthy and organic. This keen interest brought her to investigate, study and practice methods of healing that were seemingly new, but were actually traditional methods of older generations. She endlessly explored and acquired her Naturopathic Degree, a doctorate in Iridology, and masters in Natural Nutrition from the United States. The journey brought her to introduce the colonic machine in the Philippines in 1984. She read the iris of thousands after mastering the art of Iridology from Dr. Bernard Jensen. In 1990, she successfully built “Organix Center for Effective Living ,” a natural healing center way ahead of its time. It had “Blissfullbelly,” a healthy gourmet restaurant, a health food store, a sports gym with special beds for the impaired, a medical clinic offering chelation and natural remedies, a dental clinic, colonics, and a complete stay-in detoxification center.
