Etiquette de Manille honors Maharlika Women

Maharlika comes from the words maha, meaning great or noble (as in Taj Mahal or mahatma), and lika, meaning creation or expression.

Nana is the Editor-in-Chief of FOOD Magazine.  At home she’s a teacher, tutor, doctor, nurse, coach, therapist, appointment secretary, dietitian, “nagger” and all-around support system.

On Juggling Roles & Responsibilities: Realize that you can't do everything all the time. Learn to let go and accept that sometimes you really have to make compromises. Sometimes you have to sacrifice your work to attend to your children. And other times you have to sacrifice time with your children to attend to work. It goes both ways. Also delegate when you can, whether to your husband, your caregiver or even to your other children. If they're old enough, have them help you with chores and other tasks. Very important: make sure you get some "me" time alone or with your friends where you can take a break from being a mom and a wife. Favorite Books: Hmm hard to think of a favorite book as I've read so many! One novel I keep on reading over and over again is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Another book that I find touching up to now is The Little Prince by Antoine de St. Exupery. left to right: daughter Gabby, Nana, son Jaime, daughter Angela

Nana’s Inside-and-out Beauty Secrets :

On the inside, I try to keep a positive attitude even when things are looking bleak. I’m always thankful for my blessings and don’t forget to pray everyday. On the outside, I have to admit it’s not always easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I don’t always get enough sleep and exercise or eat right, but I try when I can. And I just make sure to keep my skin healthy and beautiful!
