Caviar Etiquette

The clean taste of Calvisius caviar is exquisite! Each caviar tin is traceable to the sturgeon it came from. Because of its sustainable practices, Calvisius Farm contributes to the protection of the sturgeon and the environment.

What I have learned at the Calvisius Caviar Lounge is all about appreciating premium roes caviar, on taste, connoisseurs or the Russians refer to this as, “Malossol quality”, meaning “low in salt content”. It is best to know about caviar to appreciate the quality and taste. Best caviar comes from sustainable farmed sturgeons that grow in a perfect environment. Just like coffee comes from the most premium beans and wine comes from the best vines and perfect terroir.

Celebrating Dr. Micaller’s Passion for All Things Green and Organic

Was I in greener pastures with all this green food and vibrant energy? Dr. Elizabeth Micaller is my mother’s professor at the Philippine Institute of Naturopathic Science (PINS). She received the “Iridologist of the Year” award in Florida last February from the International Iridology Practitioners’ Association. Dr. Bethh is one of the country’s pioneers of natural health and a visionary, having been a strong advocate of natural and alternative medicine as early as 30 years ago. When no one was minding the effects of modern diet, she was already deep into all things green, healthy and organic. This keen interest brought her to investigate, study and practice methods of healing that were seemingly new, but were actually traditional methods of older generations. She endlessly explored and acquired her Naturopathic Degree, a doctorate in Iridology, and masters in Natural Nutrition from the United States. The journey brought her to introduce the colonic machine in the Philippines in 1984. She read the iris of thousands after mastering the art of Iridology from Dr. Bernard Jensen. In 1990, she successfully built “Organix Center for Effective Living ,” a natural healing center way ahead of its time. It had “Blissfullbelly,” a healthy gourmet restaurant, a health food store, a sports gym with special beds for the impaired, a medical clinic offering chelation and natural remedies, a dental clinic, colonics, and a complete stay-in detoxification center.

Dr. Micaller was my teacher in Green Nutrition in the 90's at John Robert Powers. Among the 100 things Dr. Micaller taught us, my long-time favorite is: drink at least 3-4 glasses of water upon rising.

Children spend so much time online and are bereft without social media. Teaching children how to safeguard their cyber-footprint keeps them and others safe. Remind your children that they cannot control what people do with their texts, emails, comments, photos and videos once it goes public. Help your children build and protect their image, and become responsible cyber-citizens by reviewing these Cyber Etiquette tips with them:

o Pause and think before clicking “send” “share” or “post”. A post is a display or notice in a public place. Anything you post online becomes public and leaves a cyber-footprint. No exceptions. Even emails and private messages can go public. Even if you delete it, it can be traced back to you. o Proofread. Rewrite your post if it could be misunderstood. Avoid using shortcuts others may not be familiar with. o Have your parents review your photos and videos. If your parents do not approve, do not post. Never post private information, images or videos about or from others without their consent. o Keep the Golden Rule. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. o There are real people on the other side of the screen. Communicate courteously as you would face-to-face. Avoid ALL CAPS. It is seen as cyber-yelling. o Do not post when you are upset. Take time to clear your head, so as not to post things you might regret. o Never post derogatory, insulting or controversial comments, or encourage violent activity. The person or organization may take action. o Do not reply to a post meant to insult or cyber-bully you. The person who posted will stop if they do not get any reaction. Let your parents know immediately. o Stay away from strangers. Do not share personal information including your full name and phone number, names of family members, where you live and where you study. o Cyber-technology is meant to be used for all to benefit, and not abused. Set a time for staying online. Strike a balance between reaching out online and interacting face to face.
